I keep meaning to make cookies too, and every day that I plan to make them, and don't get to it, two more types of cookies end up on the list.  I better do them soon before I have so many cookies I don't have room for any other food in the kitchen =)  I actually am planning on mailing out a bunch but still.

You know that whole mystery series books (can't remember the names) that has cookie recipes at the end of every chapter? That makes me want to bake some cookies. I'm not going to do it though. I think it is about a woman who owns a cookie shop called the Cookie Jar up north in one of those cold states like Wisconsin or Minnesota. LOL. They probably burn calories just by going outside in winter!

Yeah, yeah!! Grin  I've been wanting to make cookies using several different recipes for a while now.  I talked to my friend yesterday and we are going to get together week after next and make them.  Grin Now I have to get my list out of my head and on to some paper so I have all the ingredients ready.

At the top of my list is a recipe from www.allrecipies.com for sugar cookies that seem similar to those they had at "Cookie Bouquet" - do they still have any of those places around??? Anyway, they look fun.  Spritz', Molasses, Chocolate chip truffles, the choices are endless.  Looking like I'll have to narrow down my list...   Embarrassed

I just found an amazing website for all you bread lovers out there - esp. those of you who own a new red mixer with a bread dough attachment!
check out these masterpieces of culinary art:

I will personally let Panera make my sourdough, but I can fantasize with the best of 'em!

Love that bread website!!  All those breads sure look REALLY good.  Made me remember that I had wanted to make english muffins again.  I made them about 15 years ago (has it really been that long?Huh?)

THANKS for sharing the website.

@Pat - NYAHHH AH AH... EVIL INDEED!!!  (takes one to know one, baby!)

@KAREN - you're very welcome....  A homemade loaf is also a work of art.

I know this is hard to believe, but before I took up quilting, I was a 'hobby baker'.
I used to specialize in shortbread & pies and an occasional loaf of something fancy with raisins, rum, dried fruit, more rum, uh-where was I - oh yes, baking!  I also baked bread almost EVERY WEEK back in the 70's - I was such an Earth Mother!

I also decorated gingerbread houses, Christmas cakes, and so on....

NOW that I'm a quilting teacher, the CAKE DECORATING classes are the ones that fill up.  Why oh why am I always out of step with the trends?

I decorated cakes in highschool, college and into my 30's... lotta years!!!  But only too one workshop to learn while in highschool. I was in Belgium and my mom got me the class (mid 70's). I didn't drive so once a week for several weeks she drove me at night to take my class!  Even bought me the heavy duty mixer for the icing!

I've wanted to do bread for years and years... i'm drooling over bread now... will actually start making it soon!

Anyone heard of a Bobka? It's a polish delight and I love the ones with cheese. Sort of like a raisen bread but with cheese. YUMMM! I never hear of one until a client gave me one last year for Christmas. Now I look for it everyyear about this time. Oh MY, there goes the little bit of waist I have earned TRYKKING. LOL
