I did some kool aid dying found the directions on http://www.knitpicks.com/tutorials/Dyeing__L100503.html done in the mocro wave and was quick and easy.
I also used Wilton's food coloring with good results, you need to add vinegar,
make sure you use Kool aid with NO SUGAR..
I have been getting some wool from Goodwill.  I will warn you when You buy any wool from any thrift type store or garage sale walk directly to your washing machine and wash!! you don't want any bugs brought into your home.
I put some of my wool projects up on flickr

Thanks for the link to the kool-aid dying. Sounds like that might be fun and relatively easy to try.

Went to Salvation Army and Goodwill today.  At Salvation Army anything over 4.99 was 33% off.  At Goodwill anything with a purple tag was 50% off.  I scored 5 jackets, 5 pants, and 2 skirts.  Now for the washing and drying.  Fun times.

LOL of coarse  you love that bunny! he's from your book " quilt the seasons" and my very first wool project
I organized my wool yesterday had it in 2 large container and moved them to smaller drawer unit by colors, now I want a small drawer unit for the scraps cause every inch in wool is usable

look at the raspberry colors that came out of my kool aid-I was worried the pink lemonade smell wouldn't go away, but it did after I washed it again! I found some large pieces of yucky weak tea colored wool in the bag that was given to me, so I am going to dye it all.(these were just little test pieces)

I tried grape but it came out almost black! and still smells like grape LOL! Still can't find lemon-lime anywhere but I'm thinking about mixing yellow with a little bit of blue raspberry. Maybe I need to try the food coloring method.
