I use to dye wool. I used Rite liquid, most of the time. I've tried the KoolAide and the food color. I even tried hair dye once! That one wasn't very good. After rinsing and drying I had a spongy mess.

cant' wait to see Betty. I just did some green this morning. Couldn't find green koolaid, so I used yellow (lemonade) and added a couple drops of blue food color. Came out a beautiful shade but might be a bit lighter than I want. Might have to overdye it.

okay picture over in flickr I need to re dye/over dye the "reds" I did over dye some in brown and got a lovely rusty color. The rest of the red came out way to orange so I will try and over dye them later. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7911826@N07/?saved=1

You got some beautiful shades there Betty. I love your elegant garden blocks too! I got a nice orange this morning with my koolaid. I'm doing some pretty bright colors and going to start a primitive gatherings pattern with funky colors to go with a brown/orange/pink print I bought. Pics later.

thanks I did have fun, I wanted more of a deep red burgundy but got a more orange red so may have to try again. I am supposed to get together with friends and do acid dyeing, we waiting for a bit cooler weather, all these 90 plus days are way to hot to be outside all day.

Hi, I just started my first wool project - its a "penny rug" called "Cats' Night Out" by Bunnyhugs - I changed the cats from black to copper as we have a big copper cat and I figured it would be fun to make the piece my own. This wool work could be addictive, no turning under, and I like the feel of working in the nice wool I bought at a local shop (I love Badger Brook Farm in NH). I have posted a picture to the Flicker.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/19294922@N00/4909551293/in/pool-patsloanwoolcrazychatterSharon

LOL another coming over to the wooly side! can't wait to see it! One of my friends went to a church rummage sale yesterday and came home with a 3 bags full! This will be the start of her wool stash. I made a bunch of sachets yesterday to replace some older ones found some great recipes on this website, I did the clove, cinnamon and peppercorn and made a few with lavendar the smell yummy. I store my penny mats and rugs in a plastic storage tub, so far I haven't had any uninvited guests. http://tipnut.com/how-to-get-rid-of-moths-with-natural-repellents/
