Pat, I was just reading through the entries and noticed you asked for ideas for the yarn I sent you. Here are a few things I would do with it: Flirty Ruffle Scarf http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90423AD.html
Gingerbread Man  http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90423AD.html
Green Market lunch bag http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90335AD.html
coffee cup cozy http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90038AD.html
Golightly tote http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90136AD.html?noImages=
Salvadore snake  http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90225AD.html?noImages=
Market Bag http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/80803AD.html

I could keep going but these would be my beginning choice.

I've also been making hyperbolic designs. They are just so cool looking and mindless fun. http://tinyurl.com/ykw7lh8

Have a great day!

yarn purchase for making granny 'hexagons'... it will wait a few weeks until I can start, but I had a 25% off coupon for regular priced things and these are the colors I wanted! no yarn had all 3 colors so had to go with 2 brands

Love your color choices Pat.  I have loads of yarn from my days of crocheting afghans for both babies and adults.  Someday will take it up again!!  Good for traveling as I have a hard time doing applique on planes and cars!  Haven't been on a train since I was 12 or so.  LO>!

I'm really struggling NOT to start the hexagon grannies. I'm in a Mystery sock KAL and slllooowwwlllyyy making a sweater. There are only so many hours of evening TV, which is the time I devout to yarny stuff.  I'm not much of a hand sewer so the yarn stuff keeps my hands busy in the evenings.

Have a large trash bag of ivory yarn - think I will make my DGD a scarf and hat - she is moving to Denver and will need it.  Gave her my fake mink short coat the other day - since she will be dressing for company dos with her DH she can wear it and it is no longer my size!!  Oh to be young again - I was her age when I wore!  However, I really wouldn't want to be that age again - love my age now since I am retired and no long have any work responsiblity - just quilt and have fun with my DH.

Off to watch NFL Playoffs.
