I shrank my purse yesterday - it's almost dry enough to 'shave' today, but I have to do a grocery run, so I don't know if I'll get to finish the bag today or not... at least I remembered to shoot the 'before & after' pics... as soon as I can 'shrink' them, I'll post.

Pat, Yes, that ripple pattern was on a hang tag at Joanns. There are 2 websites listed at the bottom. One is www.bernat.com &the other iswww.waverly.com It's not a very big one. Finished size is 49 x 55 ins. It uses an H hook, pretty big, should go quick.
Could have that done in the wink of an eye LOL I'm thinking Feb. we drive to Daytona & I can't sew in car. To bumpy, I stitch my fingers to much, but crochet, now that I can do.

Thea, Can't wait to see your bag. One of these days, I'm going to jump in the bag pool Roll Eyes Grin

I wish I had photos of the afghans I made over the years.  I have made several baby ones and even a couple on consignment/swap for other things.  I will try to photo one I kept and have in my family room!

I have made a few of us and kids that are just single crochet rows of variegated HomeSpun yarns to snuggle with on chilly nights.

The Denver kids like large pieces of fleece (2yards) for snuggling in front of the fire place as they are even warmer and no holes to let the air through!  Roll Eyes

Think I will get out my bag of ecru yarn and make something!

Dixie thanks for the info . I went to JoAnns yesterday, but no patterns there.
Pat thanks for finding the link, I saved it to my computer where perhaps I will be able to find it when I want it. Wink

Thea, how do you shave your felted piece. I have done felted bags, but am usually not happy with them cause of the need for a shave. Embarrassed Some I have trimmed with small snips to clean them up, but any tips would be appreciated.

I use an old electric barber's shear - it isn't fit to use on a human anymore... the wool is pretty hard on it.  I just shave the whole purse just like it was my dh's head!  lol!  nice and smooth!  I trim the edge fuzzies with scissors, too.
I used to use eyelash yarns, but found that they pill and tangle too much, so I don't bother with them anymore.

Any little yarn tails can be snipped off - once the wool is fulled, there's no unraveling at all.  I also make a knitted tube with the leftover yarn - a single strand, usually, to use for inside pockets and extra matching accessories.  If you are using pretty colors, it makes nice pin cushions or decorative flowers for pins, etc.  I used to knit squares with the leftovers for this, but a more experienced knitter put me onto the tube trick.
