I agree with Dawn if you think you can needle a piece then you can CERTAINLY fuse and blanket stitch it!

Dawn are you able to put a link on your side bar to the patterns as a pdf? I am not familiar with the site you are using to host the PDF... it sounds like it is not compatible with some people's computer.

Pat, I post the link in each post. Not sure if I can put it on the sidebar or not. If you click the link it takes you to the templates and then you choose to print or download from there. I just don't know much more than that. It is a file sharing place and I know lots who have downloaded with no problem. Only a few seem to have trouble. Prining is never a problem.

Dawn if some can't print it then maybe you can just email it to them... since most can print it that should be a small number.

I know the system you are using, but have not used it myself to share work.   I create my PDF's then host them myself on my blog or website.

I have offered to mail patterns to anyone who needs them. That offer still stands. Just email me with your snail mail address and I will send them right out.

I GOT THEM UPLOADED.
My rose wreath vine doesn't show up to well.  I don't have a bias maker, so I had to buy some bias tape and the color I chose is not showing up very well, so I am adding a little green ink from a stamp pad to help it a little.  I used to do a lot of altered art, so I might try about anything to get the results I want.

I love that term "altered art". I think I've been doing a lot of that and didn't know it. I've been thinking of "altering" the back of my Star Blooms quilt that I recently finished. I handquilted most of it in black and I like that look both on front and back. But I also used gold (not glittery gold) thread to handquilt the center areas and I like it on the front but not the back. I discovered that I can take a black marker to all the gold threads on the back and they still show but it's all black stitches, not gold. Am I crazy for thinking of doing this?

I made a clickable image for Dawn's BOM
for you to put on the side of your blog
if you would like to add it.

I wrote some simple instructions for
those who use Blogger and are not
familiar with how to do this.

Go to Dawn's blog and

Right click on the image and
Save the image to your computer.
Make sure you remember where you're
saving it. I save mine to "desktop".

If you have blogger this is what you do:

1- Go to your "Dashboard"

2- Click on "Layout"

3- Click on "Add a Gadget"  A window
will pop up.

4- Look for "Picture"  and click on that.
Where it says "Link" add the url of Dawn's
page.
http://dawnheesequilts.blogspot.com/
NOte: under the link it says "URL that clicking
this image will link to ....

5 - Where it says "Image" - "from your computer"
Click on "Browse" and find where you saved Dawn's image
and click on it, etc.

6 - Click on "Save" and your done~!

7- When you're back on your "Layout" page
make sure you click on "Save".

You just need to "see your blog" and make sure
that when you click on the image that it works
and brings you to Dawn's page.

Thank you for the directions. Now I just need to know how to post pictures to my blog and how to make links live.
Thank you so much.

I've got my first block done and am working on the second.  Didn't/don't have time to shop for period fabrics at the moment, so I'm just working from my stash.  If/when I do come across some period fabrics I'll have to buy them and start a new set of blocks using them!  : < }

I finally finished my first 2 blocks.  I am using only my stash.  I found a lot of stars and 4th of July type fabrics.  I finally figured out how to upload my photos and get them sized correctly and posted them to flickr.  Horray!  I would post them here also but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.
