Dawn,
I just left a comment on your blog for the Eagle block and then realized I should leave one here, too. This will be a great project to finally use some of my Civil War stash! I love BOM's. Sometimes, I'm not sure it will be me that finishes them but someday some quilter will get my by-then vintage stash and she can finish them! LOL! I am never bored. How do people cope when they don't have a hobby? Just wondering.

Sandi,  I just had to respond...one of my moms "mom friend"'s heard I was a quilter and sent me a 35 lb box from her stash, in there were two projects 1/2 finished.  One had the rest of the fabric, the templates she made, and the book the project came out of.  It's just a touch above my skill level if I finish the blocks but I might just put together what she made because it's so cute as is!!   Someone will finish your projects if you don't, it just might not be the way you intended.

When my grandma passed away a couple of years ago, I got her sewing "stuff". Along with it came several WIP. I hope to finish these for her some day.

I also have some old pieces, not from anyone I know, but I feel very connected to them. I love old quilts for that reason, that someone like me, made them years ago.. and most likely because they LOVED to make things!

Very special to have pieces you can finish and even better if you knew and loved the maker!

I won a set of many (maybe a dozen) blocks at the first Quiltfest in Jonesborough, TN. They don't do the lotto any more, but those blocks are waiting to be set. The common color was a teal and darn if I can think what to sash them with. Many used burgundy for their blocks with the teal. One block has a beautiful peacock on it. Such a shame to be hidden in a drawer waiting for me to finish them up. I was very lucky to have won them.

I'm getting things together for Nov. Block. I have to stay well ahead of you guys. November will be a piecing month. There will be four pieced blocks. I figure it's faster to cut and piece all four at once since they are the same block. It should really give you a feel for what the quilt is going to look like.

I've got my pieces prepped and all layed out and the flower and bud section do not want to fit! I actually remade them a bit smaller and they still don't leave me enough room around the edge for a seam allowance.
Should I trim them down a bit more Dawn?

Don't trim them down. Work on your placement. They should all fit. Mine fit with plenty of room around the edge. Is your circle too big?? The bud  leaf pieces tuck under the wreath stem a little.

Hey Sharon, How wonderful to have won some blocks. I would put chocolate with those teal blocks & a touch of red for a spark. You know that really deep red, that will make your quilt sing.
Haven't started this BOM yet. But, I'm really liking it. Since I jumped in on this thread, I guess I'll just have to do it.

They are in a pdf. If people have trouble downloading I suggest they just print. They should print very quickly.
