Yes, Yes, Yes 4 more strips to sew and my 9 Jan blocks are assembled then onto embelishing, marking the month, all the special days such as birthdays, holidays, Pie Day! HeHe.....lots of embrodering to do! Another passion of mine.

Went shopping and picked up a few more pretty's to add to my stash. Can't wait to start Feb already pulled all my pinks, reds, whites, ivories, lace, ric racs.  I think I have a theme going already in my head for Feb just have to wait and see exact demension of my Jan block so I can figure out exact demensions to use for Feb.

Loving this project each month a new block design to work with, different fabric, and more family members to mark thier special days! Exciting!!!!!!

Will post pics later today on my facebook since I still haven't had the time to play with my camera software and figure out how to get the file small enough to post here.  Have a Great Day everyone!

let's all sing ... One Strip A Day!!!

Yes this is the BEST quilt when you are done.. you will be SO SO SO Happy you kept up.. and strip for pie day... oh yeah!!!

a strip can be 3 days... just use 3 fabric... go forward a few days if you know know you will be busy.... easier (and more mind friendly) to 'sew ahead' then to have to 'catch up'!'

You can resize pics ONLINE...woot woot!! Go to this page to get a link to the tut Gregg set up http://quiltmashup.com/index.php/topic,122.0.html

I am REALLY enjoying the calendar quilt.  It is achieving its purpose with me--I'm "mostly" sewing every day--even if it is just that one single strip.  I do, however, sew a couple of strips ahead if I know I'm going to be super busy with work , classes, meetings, etc for a day or two.

I have shared the idea of the calendar quilt with so many of my quilter friends and they are like "HOW NEAT!  You gotta show us!"  Then of course I'm jabbering away about the Quilt Mashup Forum and how ADDICTED I have become to this site.  LOL Grin  And now I see that you, Pat, are going to be at the NC Quilt Symposium in June!  I am counting my pennies and vacation days now to see if I'm going to be able to go!

I worked ahead a little bit. Here's my January block all done ... except for the machine stitching around the snowflake. Not sure why I picked blue for a snowflake but I'm stitching around in white.

Ooohhh!  Pretty, pretty! I like the blocks--gives it a different look than strips.  I might have to try blocks for a month and give my quilt a varied look.  When I think of January the two colors that come to mind are blue and white...and so many "snowy" type fabrics have blue in them...maybe that's why you put a blue snowflake there!  Looks great, regardless!   Grin

Hello everyone.  Care if I join in on the fun?!  I came across this site a little over a week ago, and started designing & piecing last weekend.  Last night I finished January, & just had to take my block to work today for "show and tell."  Grin  I'm hooked...and I love the idea that it's just a little bit at a time...I can DO this!  It's too dark to even attemp a photo, so maybe this weekend, unless planning out some of February takes up too much of my time. I believe I can honestly say that I've never made a quilt where the blocks were not square ... at least square at some point. My calendar blocks will be 10x14 ... just because.
