That is a cool square Calendar quilt. I have to embellish mine before I post it. I've been pulling reds as I dug out the Jan. scraps, in anticipation of Feb. Mine will be all reds and pinks. This mo. is my son's b'day on the 12th and of course the big 14th. Presidents' day also.

Early to Rise ........awaiting Punxsutawny Phils prediction of how much winter is left. Anyone wanna make thier own prediction. It's freezing temps this am in Punxsutawny, PA, and all I can say is we still have snow on the ground here. I am making the prediction that Phil will see his shadow and we are in for 6 more weeks of winter! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Phil does do more then push the sale of the PA Lottery! LOL

Don't forget Feb 2 is Ground Hog's Day on those Calendar Quilts! Will post Phils results for Winter 2009/2010.

I haven't scene any ground hog fabric but I was thinking of taking a picture of a PA Lottery ticket and using Jet Set! LOL Phil does promote Pa's Lottery as well that little rascal! Maybe he'll let me win a million so I can quilt all day! Boy I'd be a very happy QUILTER for sure! LOL

I was wondering if there was any ground hog fabric too-we could share strips of it. I'll have to do some research on that. Otherwise, making our own fabric is a great idea, coffee. Or how about appliquing on a little ground hog-LOL! I didn't know about Candlemas-I'll have to check that out. I didn't think there were so many different things we could put in February!
I haven't heard the verdict on the the groundhog yet-but I bet he's going to see his shadow too! It's cold up here as well.

Trying for the second time to attach a picture of my January block...this formatting is new to me.

There are two dates/fabrics that were my starting inspiration.  January 1 when OSU won the Rose Bowl (Ohio State colors) and January 4 (paw prints fabric) when we had to put down our 15 year old girl.  Quilting is a great therapy!  I'm close to finishing my first big (to me!) quilt top, and this calendar quilt is my start on the second.

Sorry to hear about your sweet baby.... Undecided (15 years is a long life!)

I am glad the quilting is helping you through..... I love the colors in your block, those splashes of red are great!
