I've been working on my Calendar blocks for this years quilt. I am embroidering (machine only) the various dates on Jan. and I've started Feb. I caught up to Valentine's. I'll work on it more when I get back from work today. Making up for cancelled clients during the snow. We are supposed to get more rain/snow tonight.

I finished piecing February today, and have started cutting strips for March while I have the house to myself and fabric all over the living room.  For the Olympics, I ended up putting in a piece of blue, so it kind of blends into red-white-and-blue for Valentine's Day.  I think I'm having more fun planning this than the actual sewing!  Tongue  Back to work, since I really need to find time today to do lesson plans and some cleaning, both of which really get in the way of my fun time.

Saw a flake as I came in the house a few minutes ago and we were only supposed to get rain. Huh? My Feb. has lots of red and pinks with heart on strip 14. I never thought of the Olympics, but I did put in a couple of snowflake strips for each snowfall we have had so far. That will be a reminder. Did I tell you, Pat, how much I LOVE this idea? Now I will always remember when my sis was born and when I was married, no matter how bumfuldled I get.  Grin

Wink All that talk of snow...it's a beautiful 75 degrees here now.

Since I'm paper piecing, this is going together quickly.  Here's February.  Some brown fabric for Groundhog's Day, hearts for V's Day, & some pink cocktail fabric for Fat Tuesday.  Oh, & I stuck in a piece of blue for the opening of the winter Olympics.

And here's March.  Dick & Jane fabric for March 2...Read Across America.  (I'm an elementary teacher.)  Yellow tape measure fabric for spring break when I can play more!  Green for St. Patty's Day.

And a shot of the 3 months together.  I'm going to wait until later for embellishments.  I have a couple of ideas floating around my head and want to wait until the quilt top is finished.

Got all my Jan blocks quilted onto quilting all my feb blocks, did manage to put together one March block after I realized I sewed all my triangles wrong I just kept sewing away without even checking a one! Ohhhhhhhhhhhh so now I am 1/2 way through ripping out all those "kites"! They should have been triangles forming a rectangle! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Was thinking since it is March and March is windy kite flying weather I could use them but they are to large the block would be way to big! LOL  I'm blaming my flop on all the snow bogging me down! LOL

Gotta get March done cause my April block is just to cute on paper I cant wait to do one! LOL I'm being good and finishing one before I do the next! I'm having withdrawls............................

February done!  Smiley

Cupcake for my birthday on the 1st, couldn't find a ground hog so I used a cute kitty in the snow for the 2nd, pretty red swirls for Valentines day, and a sewing machine because I have been busy sewing!

I liked the frog so I stuck him in there too... even though its not a "leap" year this year!!
