Taco soup! Is there a recipe you can share?!
I'm working on my first fall stew. Something to simmer all day and be ready before figure skating lessons. In Northern Ontario, it's the next sacred ice sport! Don't tell all the hunters Wink

Betty gave it to me and she just left on retreat.. but I found one REALLY similar!  I usually mix up the beans and things that go in, tonight I also added some guden's mustard ... I like a bit of that in chili so wanted to see how it tasted!

try this one, very similar to Betty's

we had creamed chipped beef. My Aunt calls it s*** on a shingle. Tomorrow I'm making a Beef & spinach tart from Bob Greene's Best Life Diet book. There are some very good recipes in his book.

Definitely going to make Taco Soup but will add some chicken!  I have frozen tenders in the freezer and think it will be great!

Good Question. With Pat in Houston, I'm just cooking for myself. I usually do most of the cooking here (or as Pat would call it: food preparation). But with Pat on travel my requirement to have a sit down dinner with her is gone; I can just have what I want. Usually, this means frozen or shelf-life dinners. I'll probably have one of those shelf-life dinners tonight. I was thinking of making some pasta but too late to start now. Maybe another day.

Oh, I did have coffee with Pat this morning...via Google video chat. She was in her hotel room; I was here in Virginia. Works pretty good, although I think my coffee was much better than hers.

I like the meals in a box, chicken and dumplings, hashbrowns and ham etc when I am not up to making anything for myself (and the picky eater three year old who only wants bannanas, apples, and carrots!) open cans, stir, put in pan, bake!

tonight we are having chicken and broccli devan off the back of the Campbells broccli and cheader soup can

Tell Pat to get her behind down to a starbucks and get some VIA (yes yes the barista in me is pushing it) or get her some for next time.  It's not bad at all! great for travel, and goes well in hot water, cold water, hot milk, or cold milk, depending on what you like!  now call my manager and tell her I am talking up via everywhere!!=)

Good idea on the instant.  We were in Starbucks the other day and they were giving out coupons for it. She will have to try it. However, I have a jar of grocery store brand instant coffee and she will not allow it to be opened when she is in the house.

My husband cooks it until the meat starts to pull off the bones. At least 2 hours, sometimes longer if he forgets about it while playing guitar! He pours the broth though a colander into a waiting bowl below so it's not a big deal if everything separates. Good luck! We use ours to make soup and freeze some to use for pilafs.
