I cut my selvages 1 inch and maybe a little more if I really liked the print. Some of my selvages were less but not less than 3/4 inch. The thinner the strip the more it takes to make a block. I also added a couple ribbons in the block for interest. The ribbon seem to make it straight and to stabilize it.

I can't wait to see what everyone makes!

I am so bummed. I threw out all my selveges when the grands out grew Grammy sewing. Used them to stabilize shoulder seams, etc. Now I have none. I'm going to try and resist this one as well as the Vicksburg blocks. Geeshe! I really don't need any more projects. You all are so tempting, I fail more than resist. LOL This is such a fun group, but I may have to drop out all together. Just too much temtation and not enough time. Who won that stocking give away anyway??? Wink

Super cool Dyline! I'm going to try and find a red when I'm teaching this weekend. I have one I can use, but I'd like something almost solid... and brigter than the one I thought I'd use.

so I'll be questing for red!

I have already made 2 blocks.  I LOVE THEM!  I had to make myself put them away so I could get other things done today.  I am hoping to make 2 more tonight.

I cut my Kona at 9 1/2" for a 9" finished square.  I would like a bigger quilt.  I am thinking for my bed.
