is that the size she has on her site.. I have not looked yet.  When I do my newsletter next week I'm going to get some more people 'on board' and then we'll host some sort of swap... see what the interest is and what people want to swap!

She cut her's at 9 for a finished block of 8 1/2".  Her's looks (I'm guessing) about 60" square.  I will hopfully post a picture of my first 4 blocks this weekend.

For those of you looking to add to your selvage stash without much expense, I have a few suggestions:
1. Ask friends to save them for you
2. If you belong to a guild ask to put a note in the next news letter that you are collecting them
3. Ask the quilt shop you frequent if they would save them for you when they cut kits
4. If you blog, do a post about it.  Offer to swap something for a baggie of selvage.
5. When you buy fat quarters make sure to buy the edge with the print
6. Some of the fabric manufactures have also started selling bags of just selvage edge

I can't wait to see what the blocks start looking like.

I started saving them for a friend who was going to make a tote bag, then caught the bug myself and started saving them for me!  I've got a little pile of them now.  A swap sounds like fun!

My fingers are in my ears and I've shut my eyes tight. I'm humming so I can't hear a thing about any more swaps/projects. Maybe I might have to stop reading this Mashup for a while. - NOT I can't miss out on the Sloanies fun. Tongue

No, Pat, I don't make every quilt I see in person, not even every quilt I own, but when the talk gets going about how much fun anything is, I want in. LOL Your Mashup is just the bomb! Thanks so much for all you do. I had trouble ordering that placemat snowman pattern on you site. But hopefully the shipping dept. will anwer quickly.

Yeah, I got it, but I can't remember why I wanted to change my password. Aging is not for the faint of heart. Bummer. I guess it is good. That Blog hop was HARD and I only got one right as I thought. I can see some of the resembelences but not many. LOL Maybe I'm visually impaired.

I recently finished a black and white selvage zinger quilt top that is at my LQS waiting to be quilted on the longarm. The zinger was very easy to do. I cut out a cardboard template to make my squares uniform. You can see a photo of part of my zinger on the header of my blog-http://cre8fmomquilts.blogspot.com

I have enough selvages collected again that I am working on a set of selvage placemats, and am just starting to work on some selvage neck roll pillows!

I have taken a few different approaches to boosting my selvage collection.

I have posted a request in Alchemy on Etsy, offering to pay postage costs for selvages. I have also approached a few sellers on Ebay whose fabric taste is similar to mine. They sell cut squares, so they have selvages left over. Paying postage has worked for me!

I would love to get involved in a swap.

I am always thinking of what I can do next with selvages. I just was in AZ and visited some amazing quilt stores, and bought some awesome fabrics! Now, to go cut off the selvages!
