those blocks are so darn cute!!! Will you have to slit the backs and remove all the papers when done?

Well I was to work on some little projects for gifts tonite but that didn't happen as I had a friend over.  (teaching her to piece quilts!!)  So I ended up working on a "big" project.  Tonites/early morning goal is to have the applique section of two quilts all cut out and fused...ready for quilting.  Going to do these as quilt as you go, so wish me luck as I haven't done this before.  Yes....these are Christmas presents...why did I wait soooo long?Huh?

Yes, Pat-for the freezer paper applique I will remove the paper after-more work but I like the look for a "used" quilt. For wall hanging quilts I love the fusible technique.

teaching someone to quilt is a wonderful way to spend the night... you should take a photo of each other as a FIU and post it!!!

prepared under edges are very pretty.... I do then sometimes and plan to do that tea leaf quilt that way, the one  I blogged about recently

I have 2 projects; one to finish and the other to get started and finish.  The first "easy" project is a folded star ornament (my star points tend to wander all over the ball). The second is a table runner, using pastel batiks and a rail fence pattern. I am inspired!  Pat

So many busy people! Congrats to Cindy for winning Day One. I've never made candy - cookies are enough temptation around here. Smiley Yay to spicykathy for the new camera. I like mine, but would like a real good one, someday.
I have gotten some things DONE too. I had to come back here to see what else I listed to finish! Grin Pictures are at flickr, I'm Sew Joy Sarah! Smiley
Completed:
16 potholder tops
16 left mittens
16 right mittens (these go together to make ornaments)
Now, still to do as previously mentioned:
Christmas cards - really no idea how many right now - need to focus on this one!
Cut batting for potholders
Gather supplies for Monday's Sew In
Buy supplies still needed - pins, some thread, ribbon
Make 8 pincushions for the kids to use
Tablerunner for my 100 blog post giveaway Tuesday (or at least have it ready to make!)

So far the 2 year old is letting me work today. But I have to go out and get groceries today. Maybe I'll be adding cookie baking to the list as well. Bake sale is same day as craft sale - next Thursday! I think I was volunteered for a zillion sugar cookies. Or maybe just 6 dozen or so Cheesy

Keep going everyone. You are inspiring me with your projects! And giving me ideas too.

today is a cleaning day for me...maybe I will get to some sewing.  Should I take before and after pics of the bedroom...I don't even sleep in there any more! (for like 2 weeks!! Oh it's BAD the kids and honey have turned the room into their dumping grounds.) While I am cleaning I will be decorating.  The tree WAS nice but then someone wasn't awake when a three foot someone was and now I have to track down all the ormanments again!  Tomorrow I am having a friend over to teach her how to sew/make her family stockings like her mom used to make. I will also be able to work on some of my own things and hopefully be able to share a few FIU things.

Pat you can always be counted on to give me motivation at the right time. In mid-October, dear Granddaughter asked if I would make her a quilt for Christmas. We were in the final stages of a Kitchen remodel and all I could say is sure, I'll do my best. What was I thinking? But how do you tell your beautiful, eight-year-old, first born grandchild anything else? The words just would not come out of my mouth. And so I started the "why do I do this every year" stress, trying to find the pinks and purples she requested and some simple pattern to complete it. There were no girly pinks and purples to be found in this country primitive house. What I had, I donated for charity quilts when we moved. Thank heaven for the wonderful fabric stores in our area. I decided to go with pre-cuts and just arranged them on my flannel wall and created from there. I have no idea when they are coming for Christmas - but I have to get it finished ASAP. Keep me going folks. Oh, I uploaded the fabrics to the Flicker group.

Got the second panel for daughter's drapes done! WooHoo!  Will do the stitching and assembly this week!  Now down to finish a couple smaller gifts and maybe a stocking.  Will post the stocking shortly....one has been in the making since Dec 23 LAST year!  Good thing she is only 14 months old!  And thank you much for this weekend, Pat...it's like going away to sewing camp with friends!

Being new to the group and I already have to confess how many projects Grin  First let me say I have dumped this year the traditional 'gift making, card doing, cookie making, or decorating' ........decorating was swift and quick w/little helpers...so, I moved on to what is exactly a must and most fun....quilting:)Skipping out on the rest:) "Quilting or More Quilting" is my exact quote at the moment:)  I am in 2 quilt groups w/one doing mission quilts going to another country ..also in that group I am hand stitching or I shall finishing some stitching on a group of old dresdens given by a great fellow quilte who is no longer w/us and we are putting them together to donate to a children's home which auction these each year.
I am also playing around w/those great shelvages!! Having fun creating to pass on to others for fun...
Also am working on a charm quilt that was inpired by Moda's inspirational free patterns...'Things of Desire' for my preteen's quilt...
And, I am sure there is more...but, one shouldn't really confess all...espec on the first date:)But, as long as we are creating....:)Skeat  Roll Eyes

I finished 40 strippy blocks for my Christmas quilt. Tomorrow ... borders. I won't get this baby quilted this weekend but the top will be done! Tonight - working on a sleeve for my daughter's sweater.
Going to a Christmas party tomorrow night so today I also baked a chocolate cake to bring.
Thanks for the push, Pat!
