Remember the Beggin' Strips commercial on TV where the dog says, "I'd get it myself, but I don't have thumbs"?? That's me. I'm chasing all over awaiting further developments on this swap! Can you tell I'm excited??!! It's going to be such fun. By the way, Margi, are there any special requirements for the tea towels?? Lisa in Louisiana

Tea Towel Mania!!
1- I've never prewashed tea-towels for a swap... BUT if you think they will be ones that shrink like crazy, then it would be a good idea to do that, or use another kind.
2- Tea Towels can be anything that will work with the applique you pick to do.. I've traded woven style and more terry style that you get in Target or such.
These are not the tiny 'finger towels' but things you put in your kitchen to use.
Maybe if you have a question on if your tea towel you can post a picture!! I hope that helps

I do wash & press my Tea towels even when they are not cotton along with all my fabrics, that way no shrinking or color bleeding! I also attach a note that ask not to wash in hot water or use bleach! I don't want my little pretty to be ugly after one use! LOL NO UGLY DUCKLINGS! LOL
This does have to be one of the patterns from your quilt right Pat?

I typed my message, hit send and it told me I had "timed out", try to send message again. Wierd........but......I will try again. :-) Just wanted to say that I am having a good afternoon choosing some fabrics and fun for my Spring Swap Partner. When I saw her "likes", I knew I could make a fun package for her. Just need to decide if I will do Pat's Cherries or Strawberries for the tea towel and then I'll buy a towel that will suit the design. :-) Also having a good afternoon as the sun is shining here in Minnesota and it is in the upper 20's. Now that is awesome in my book! I've had enough winter. Totally ready for spring!!!

You got that right, Pat! I am absolutely craving real strawberries and warm summer weather! Real tomatoes would be a treat, too, and so the sooner spring comes, the sooner there will be a real Farmer's Market on Main Street where I can get them all. I never said I would grow them myself. :-) I tried strawberries one year and the birds ate them all!

We have some great markets here in So. NJ when they truck stuff in from the N. NJ gardens. The water there is supposedly the best and makes the difference. We also have the cheapest gas in NJ! HA! So there are some perks to living here snow or no.

oh my, sounds like everyone is digging into the stash and coming up with some great ideas for tee towels! WOOT WOOT! Gotta love it. I am ready to put a garden in and going over the Farmer's Market patterns is making that urge even stronger! We are doing a full garden this year, now that we have the backyard completed and all the nasty concrete gone. I'm also tired of paying the outrageous prices at the store for fresh veggies altho late summer our roadside stands are just a hopping. I am almost tempted to put up a small greenhouse so I can grow my own all year round! WOO HOO!

We should start a veggie growing section... I used to do tomatoes and green beans. And I was thinking of tomatoes for sure!
