you guys are so funny!!!

The Artisan bread in 5 min is a 'process'.. no kneading but you do need stone to bake it on and pan of steam.. you can google it and find videos and they  have a book on amzaon.

i don't have any bread books except one from 12 or 15 yrs ago that was a companion to Julia child's show.... so many newer techniques now!

later I'll find the one I just did... I have 2 that have been more successful than others... but I'm in the massive experimental stage!

The down fall of the blocks going to charity is that 'someone' has to assemble, quilt, bind and find the charity.

thoughts on that?

You are so right, Pat. I've done several raffle quilts where I put out "the call" for blocks and that part was easy. Then they need to be sewn together. Then the quilt needs to be quilted and then binding. Sometimes I did the binding, sometimes the quilt was bound by the machine quilter. If the blocks are made for a charity project, someone has to be the one that coordinates the assembly then and it can be pretty time consuming. I vowed not to make another raffle quilt after the last one that took hours of time on the part of those who made the blocks and the quilters who did the hand quilting. The quilt was beautiful but only raised a few hundred dollars for what was a fundraiser to cover medical costs. Those of us who participated were really pleased though, when the person who bought the quilt gave it to the little girl that the fundraiser benefitted.
I have another thought but will share later. have a busy day ahead.......

OMG!!! Sandi That is AMAZING... good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Show us which one you pick!!!

And guess what!! Someone on FB voluteered to do the challenge blocks up as a quilt if I'd like her to... we are going to email. This challenge is for the cruise in June. We always do one ... often the lady who works for the travel agency went and she made the charity quilt.. sometimes people got the block back... sometimes someone won... I'm hoping for enough to split between a winner for a memory and some for a charity quilt!

Okay, here we go, show and tell...... I picked the one called "Madeline" in the coolest aqua floral....... it's here...... http://www.aprilcornell.com/Products/April+Cornell+Catalog/PID-BGMADEO.Aqua.aspx?productName=Madeline+Bag

I hope it's in stock. I picked the Jaipur Patchwork tote as my second choice. It's here.... http://www.aprilcornell.com/Products/April+Cornell+Catalog/PID-BGJAITOTN.aspx?productName=Jaipur+Patchwork+Tote+Bag

I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon for disc problems that I have and I got a good report and then I got home and had that e-mail so it was great news!

I think that's great that there is a group that can do the charity quilts. Awesome!

Great Choices.. they look just like quilters' bags.. how funny is that!! I think the 2nd could pass for a Lazy Girl pattern done with a charm pack!

maybe talk a walk.... i need to walk.. hope it warms up enough for me!

Just updating while everyone is sleeping in. We got Paige about 9:30 with Trykke, helmet, and assorted stuff. She lazes around in the a.m. and I sewed a bit. Then I went to the office for the one client. She and DH picked up Dalton from baseball tryouts. The first cut is MOn. so keep good vibes going. THis is really the first interest he has shown in his freshman year at the HS. He loves BB so it's gotta happen. (begging on my knees here; would it help to take the coach to dinner at the expensive steak house?) We took them to Roy Rogers for lunch, slot car racing (which took up all the Wii time). Then I took Paige back home to feed the animals and got her a milk shake for a snack, and dropped her off at the play. Played Wii with Dalton, went to dinner and the local Italian pub and home. I collapsed and we played Wii some more. Then DH and Dalton went back to the house to let the dog out one last time and pick up Paige from her cast party. She had a ball. I was in bed. LOL This is the reason we grandparents don't have kids. They wear us out too easily. I'm up and no one else is. That's why I wear out earlier than others. I'm a morning person. Grin

Sharon - be careful! I've never played Wii but my daughter tells me ... she gets "Wii-arm." The first time she told me this, I had no idea what she was talking about and then I never laughed so hard.  Wii-arm! Apparently this is wide spread.

Sharon, I get ya on the grandparent thing......I love having my grandson visit, but always need a day to recover after he has been here. LOL! He loves to "do projects" when he comes so we create "crafty" projects and make a mess doing it but it's fun. He's a good helper when it comes to cleaning up. I love to have him visit. :-)
