Was that blog the one where she used the plastic spinach and veggie containers? I thought that was great. I washed one the other day that had grapes in it, thought it was a perfect size, then my husband threw it away!

Know I have that site in my bookmarks but they don't always show up as being there.  Have so many blogs bookmarked, hard to read them all everyday.  Glad to see you there and catch up on her blog.

I have to wash the containers and dry quickly and then run them to the quilt studio if I want to keep them.  DH sometimes cleans up in kitchen and have to beat him to them!

You know--I have to do the same thing when saving containers.  I must either wash and dry and save quickly or leave explicit directions to NOT THROW AWAY.  But--hey--at least we have husbands who are helping clean up!   Grin  Now, who are we to complain about that?!?!?! Wink

Since it is just the last 3 years that DH helps, I never complain, offer small suggestions and look until I find where he put it!  Kiss

Yes, I saved a peach container the other day....now I'm trying to figure out just what I'm going to do with it LOL    Kept the containers from icing and tuna tins to make some pincushions for friends this year for Christmas (oh-oh....did I say Christmas?  Shocked)

Hubby's?  Hmmmm well I definitely cannot complain.  He has come up to bat in the last 12+ years on doing laundry, washing dishes, hanging clothes on the line, garbage duty, vacuum & washes the floors, strips & remakes the bed, folds laundry, has looked after the grands and even changed their diapers! Shocked  He doesn't do windows very well, but will do them  Grin  But a handyman regarding capentary work he is not.  But I am definitely "not" complaining ... just stating a fact LOL

Good morning! NOT going into the hubby discussion LOL! Mine is pretty awesome {but taking the garbage out  is my duty!}

Reusing containers - I've been saving the plastic strawberry containers for a long time. I just started saving some smaller ones blueberries came in. They fit stacks of 2 1/2 inch squares nicely.
I also happened upon the cardboard boxes that cucumbers came in. They have little notches on the ends and stack into each other. I have 3 on the top shelf of my closet and they hold my strawberry containers with different strips, bricks, scraps, etc.
My biggest challenge has been labelling my containers - not just shoving stuff in and relocating the mess!!
Now the boxes are labelled on the side as to what's in there - and each container is labelled too.
I am currently cutting up stash for a long term scrap project. A container fits at the end of my cutting table. On one of the labels I put what size pieces I need (just 2 different ones so for now they both fit in the same container). I also put on a label what pattern they are for and the source.
My latest reclaimed plastic is the squeaky box the croissants come in from the grocery store. It got rescued because it fits nicely at the end of my table. It should fit some smaller pieced blocks while I work on a project.
I have always looked at my trash twice - to my wincing husband's dismay! Smiley
We have a STACK of the giant ice cream tubs saved. Now he wants to use them for science in his grade 5 class.
Sometimes the storing of reuseables becomes an issue. But it's a challenge I enjoy Smiley
Now back to all those UFOs!

Wow, Sarah, you are most organized!  I only wish I could be "partly" organized.  But I guess if I did it with "Creativity" (my word of the year Smiley ) I could really do it up right LOL   I'll keep pluggin' away it and one of these days get it right LOL
