we went to the drive in on Friday to see the new Karate Kid movie - Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith - scrawny new kid in town beats up all local bullies in one day... predictable ending, pretty close to the original... HOWEVER, what made it a great night was that the local marshall arts school brought the ENTIRE staff and parents with kids - who gave demonstrations prior to the movie.  Absolutely great kids - tiny to teens - they were all well disciplined and talented!

Did anyone else try to watch the new Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp?  My DGD (9), DH and I started it and after 30 minutes we stopped and sent it back to Netflix.  I noted "Did not like" on their survey.  What a dark and dreary and a miserable excuse for a movie and such a waste of great talent.  The story was so lovely and well written and then produced by Disney in animation!  Angry

I liked the costumes. It was a different take on the story, but OK for me and DGD.

I did not care for Alice in Wonderland either. It does not claim to be the original story, and it sure isnt. I'm getting tired of Depp's funny white faces.
